EMILY HASHIGUCHI is a native of Washington, D.C. She completed her early training with Patricia Berrend at Berrend Dance Center, and furthered her dance studies with Michelle Lees at Maryland Youth Ballet and Pamela Bjerknes at American Dance Institute. While a student at ADI, Emily was given the opportunity to be a founding member of Ballet ADI (formerly Chamber Ballet), performing original choreography by Runqiao Du. She has spent her summers studying on scholarship at School of American Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. She was also a finalist and participated for two years in the Kennedy Center Master Class Series, where she was able to take classes with artistic directors from around the world. Emily danced professionally for two seasons with the Virginia National Ballet, performing numerous classical and contemporary works by Rafik Hegab. In 2018, Emily joined MOVEIUS Contemporary Ballet where she had several performance opportunities such as dancing on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center and traveling to San Francisco and New York City to perform as an affiliate event of the Global Climate Action Submit.
