Snowstorm in July: a dance journey through the seasons
Ranging from humorous to poignant, Snowstorm In July is a family friendly performance with athletic, engaging movement that fuses ballet and contemporary dance. Each section of the performance is inspired by poems and quotes from literature about the seasons of the year, including poems by Ogden Nash, a writer who called Baltimore home from the 1930’s - 1970’s. The piece is set to an original soundscore that weaves these words of inspiration with music varying from classical arrangements like "Flight of the Bumblebee" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and “Waltz of the Snowflakes” by Peter Tchaikovsky, to old standards like “That’s Amore” sung by Dean Martin.
